Renuka Dushyantha Perera, who served as the chairman of Milko, has decided to resign from today (18).
In a letter addressed to the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, he has mentioned that although he has one more month to work in this position, he has decided to resign as he is working together with a local and Indian company to privatize Milko.
For the past few weeks, MILCO employees have been protesting demanding Renuka Perera to resign from her post.
The employees alleged that Milko, which was making profits, turned loss-making during Renuka Perera's tenure.
